Kampala Personal Chef serves private clients across Kampala with weekly meal prep, dinner parties, villa catering, corporate events and private cooking classes. We are hiring for three roles. Apply using the form beside this list and tell us which role you want.
Chef Manager (Part-Time)
This is the role we most want to fill. You will run the day to day of Kampala Personal Chef so the founder can step back, and you will own the client relationship from first message to booked job.
Most enquiries arrive on WhatsApp and through the website. The difference between a quiet month and a busy one is how quickly and how confidently those are answered. If you are comfortable closing, you will do well here.
What you will do
- Answer and close enquiries on WhatsApp and the website, usually within minutes
- Recruit, brief and schedule chefs across weekly meal prep, dinner parties, villa catering and corporate events
- Match the right chef to each client and keep standards consistent
- Prepare quotes, follow up on them, and turn one off jobs into repeat bookings
- Keep simple records of jobs, chefs and payments
What we are looking for
- You can sell. This matters more than anything else on this list
- A kitchen or catering background, so you can talk to both chefs and clients credibly
- Fast, clear written English, because most of the job happens in a chat window
- Organised enough to run several bookings a week without dropping any
- Based in Kampala
Pay
Part-time. Retainer plus commission on every client you close. If you bring in the work, you earn directly from it.
Personal Chef (Meal Prep and Catering)
Weekly meal prep is our most requested service, and it is where most of your work will come from. Clients want a week of balanced, well cooked food ready in their own kitchen. Alongside that we take dinner parties, villa catering and small corporate events, so we are looking for a chef who is comfortable moving between them.
What you will do
- Plan and cook weekly meal prep in clients’ homes, including dietary menus
- Shop for fresh ingredients and work to an agreed budget
- Cook for dinner parties, villa stays and small corporate events as they come up
- Leave every kitchen exactly as you found it
What we are looking for
- Real cooking experience, whether restaurant, hotel, private household or catering
- Range. A chef who can handle both a week of meal prep and a dinner party is worth far more to us than a specialist in one
- Reliability and good timekeeping, because clients plan their week around you
- Clean, professional presentation in someone’s home
- Based in Kampala and able to travel to clients
Pay
Per job, agreed in advance and based on experience. Regular meal prep clients mean steady, repeating work rather than one off bookings.
Private Cooking Class Instructor (Pastry and Baking)
We run private cooking classes in clients’ homes, and most people who ask for them want to learn pastry and baking. Bread, cakes, pastries and the techniques behind them. If teaching is something you enjoy as much as cooking, this is a good fit.
What you will do
- Teach private pastry and baking classes in clients’ homes, one to one or in small groups
- Plan each class around what the client actually wants to learn
- Bring a clear, patient teaching style that suits complete beginners
- Advise clients on the equipment and ingredients worth buying
What we are looking for
- Strong pastry and baking skills, with formal training or solid bakery experience
- The patience to teach someone who has never baked before
- Good spoken English and the confidence to lead a session
- Based in Kampala
Pay
Per class, agreed in advance. Classes are booked in advance, so you know your schedule ahead of time.
